Five weeks to go.

Our hospital visit was followed by the invasion of the first floor packers 🫠. We asked the reconstruction folks to do the flooring and baseboards in sections so that we can somewhat still use the house in these next two weeks. We have been reminded of how much stuff we have šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø.

Two days ago, our back door wasn’t completely shut and Ms. Poppy decided she was going to inspect our back yard. We don’t know how long she was out there because Owen and I crashed in the afternoon and napped for some time. She is the care-free one and I’m scared she’s going to feel she’s ready to tackle the outdoors in Coyote country…

Owen is doing well. Despite the stint of nausea, he has been motivated to get things done. He is sleeping and eating well. Headaches are here and there. The doctors are really far from caring about his weight gain, but it is bothering Owen.

This last weekend, Owen tested out his ability to be out in a busy crowd. He wanted to go to Costco. 😳

Well, right as we walked in, he turned to me and said, ā€œI can’t do this.ā€ But he said he’d be out on the perimeter while I dove into the core of Costco madness. Truth be told, I can’t stand the Costco madness… especially when you are trying to ring out. I’m not sure there is ever a good time to go. Oh except an hour before a long awaited eclipse. Yes, that was a great time. Crickets in Costco.

Owen and I have friends that we have known for over 16 years who have gifted Owen a really neat bird feeder. They have always been family and we wouldn’t have our house if it weren’t for them. They closed on the house for us while we were out in Japan. And we are so happy that they have put down their roots here in TX. This bird feeder is Owen’s next project. We have ordered items to keep the squirrels and raccoons away. We will see how successful we are with that. The really neat thing about this bird feeder is that it has a camera and captures birds as they visit. We should have this up and running in the next couple of days. Video snippets to come!
