37. Much Needed Joy

Yesterday, Owen had a highly anticipated appointment with Dr.B, his neurosurgeon. Dr. B told us that this report was an A+. No new enhancements. The treatments have been keeping the cancer at bay.


YES!!!


We had a very frank discussion with him about Optune. And it was a discussion of cost vs. benefit. Basic economics. In which Dr. B said the benefit - extension of life that this Optune gives, in his personal opinion, doesn’t outweigh the cost to quality of life for using the Optune. Dr. B apologized to me because he knew that even if it were an extension of 6 weeks of life, I thought it was worth it. So Owen seems to have come to a conclusion that he isn’t going to wear the Optune.


I understand both arguments. And I hate that we even have to assess cost vs benefit because I will be biased and say whatever the cost for any benefit.


But it isn’t my call, is it.


Yesterday, we had some really good rain!!! The birds were loving it! Our grass and trees needed it!!


September is a special month for me! This is when the Munchkin was born. She will be 28.


I close this post thanking God for the much needed fantastic news about Owen’s MRI and the blessings we continue to receive!
