Owen has been doing great.
So great that he started tackling our dreaded closet. Now, you can walk into our closet. You won’t have to jump over boxes. You can actually see walls in there now.
Well, this was a two person tasking and let me tell you how great it is when you are in straight purge mode.
Owen made out with selling his clothes to a second hand store. I didn’t. Apparently, people don’t thrift shop for work attire.😤
Owen starts his next round of chemo this week. Because it’s the week before Thanksgiving, I’m praying that he enjoys the holiday, enjoys family and friends. I hope that he has another great round.
Owen was looking into getting logs that you use in a gas fireplace and found this small family owned store in Boerne. The owners did something so unbelievable. We went there to pick the gas rack and fake wood. If you don’t know, fake logs aren’t cheap! Well, let me revise that statement. Realistic looking and great quality gas logs are not cheap. We must have been there for a few hours just chatting it up with the ladies in the store. Wonderful, salt of the earth ladies. We finally made a decision and scheduled install with this store. When installation day came, Mr. R, the owner, came to install the beautiful, not cheap set up. And when it was time to pay, Mr. R ripped the invoice and said it was a gift from them. We still can’t believe it.
Owen will be traveling to RI in December. It will be good for him to see family and friends. I’ll be staying back in TX. I don’t have leave to take. But it’s ok. There are more important things that I have to use my leave for.
As we come rushing to the end of 2024, we have to remember the blessings that we were given this year.
