Helping Us Move Forward

What made me want to do this?

There were a few times in my life when I realized that I had tapped into some coping mechanisms that I see now as really helpful.

While I will not promote being a coach potato, one of those mechanisms was binge-watching Grey's Anatomy. There is no shortage of episodes to binge. Just being honest.

But the one activity that really did help me process and take steps forward was journaling. I had read in multiple articles about how writing your thoughts out would help.

When I brought Owen home from the hospital after his surgery, he had asked me to document things like what had happened, if I recognized any changes with him, discussions with medical professionals and the like.

And then I became the Point of Contact for all things Owen and realized that I was sending something that looked a whole lot like journal entries to our family members to update them on everything.

So... this has become our way of processing, healing, and sharing information to our family and friends.

As a disclosure, posts will be about whatever. I may feel like I want you to know how much I can't stand parquet flooring (history: Owen represents Celtic Nation, I was born a Lakers fan. If you know the 80's then enough has been said).

I hope, in some way, our documented journey provides hope to someone.
